Description
Pepper is the dried berry of Piper nigrum. This vine which can grow up to ten feet tall is indigenous to India and Asia. Pepper is actually berries that are picked about nine months after flowering.
Pepper is grown in Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brazil.
White peppercorns are fully-ripened fruits (berries) that are sun-dried after their red outer skin is removed. In Chinese cuisines, white pepper is often preferred for its sharpness. Add a gentle heat to marinades, fish, grilled food, sauces and much more.
